My all-time favorite book series

outlander-book-seriesThis series hooked me in a way that no book ever has.  It is so detailed and elaborate, and it just sucks you into this Scottish world that you want to be a part of.  I wanted to travel back in time, and live this history.  After reading this, I was pretty much obsessed with all things Scottish for the longest time.  I have tried to reread the series, and I want to so bad, but it’s a huge undertaking since each book hovers around 1000 pages.  I recommend this book to everyone, and I haven’t had any one not like it yet.

steelheart:firefight

One of the best YA books that I have read this school year has been Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson.  I picked this book up to read as an option for my lit circles groups that are mainly boys who don’t like to read.  Well, I was so surprised.  I really got into this book and could not put it down.  I now see why my brother is always talking about the quality of writing that Brandon Sanderson produces.  I hope to read his other books soon.

all-souls-trilogy

The All Souls Trilogy is a series that combines all of my favorite genres together.  A little bit of magic plus a little bit of history plus a little romance equals a fantastic story.  I loved how this story wove together real history with a completely imaginative tale of witches, vampires, and daemons.  A must read!!
